Kotlin has an easy learning curve if you do have prior programming language experience. Google declared Kotlin as a primary language for Android development.

Since the release of the Kotlin programming language, it has been adopted all around the world. Many leading companies and brands switched to Kotlin from Java for their mainstream apps - such as Pinterest, Uber, and Coursera - to name a few.

In fact, Kotlin is one of the fastest-growing languages as per the 2021 JetBrains Developer Ecosystem Survey with 63% of professionals using Kotlin for Android development. Thus, it’s no wonder to see why Google declared it as an official language for Android.

More than 50% of professional Android developers now use the language to develop their apps, Google says, and in the latest Stack Overflow developer survey, it ranks as the fourth-most loved programming language.
